Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Ludus Guide collects, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. We aim to be direct and plain. No legalese walls.
1. Who we are
Ludus Guide, by Ludus Love, is a curated directory of inclusive, alternative and community-led spaces, events, and communities across the UK, available at ludusguide.com. For data-related enquiries, contact us at hello@ludusguide.com.
2. What we collect and why
Newsletter sign-ups
If you opt in to The Ludus Guide newsletter, we collect your email address and pass it to Beehiiv, our email service provider. We use this to send you curated listing recommendations and updates. Your email is never shown publicly. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email.
Listing submissions
When you submit a space, event, or community via the Submit page, we collect the listing name, URL, category, a short description, and optionally a contact email. This information is stored in our database and reviewed by our editorial team. We use it solely to evaluate whether to list it in the directory, and your email is used only to contact you about your submission, never shown publicly or used for marketing.
Featured listing payments
If you pay for a Featured listing, the payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details. Stripe handles all payment information under their own privacy policy. We receive confirmation of payment status from Stripe to activate your listing.
Server and access logs
Like any website, our hosting provider (Vercel) may log IP addresses and request metadata as part of standard infrastructure operation. We do not use these logs for marketing or profiling.
3. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services that may process data on our behalf:
- BeehiivEmail newsletter delivery and subscriber management
- StripePayment processing for Featured listings
- VercelWebsite hosting and edge infrastructure
- SupabaseDatabase storage for listings and submissions
Each of these services operates under its own privacy policy and data processing agreements. We have selected providers that meet appropriate data protection standards.
4. Cookies and local storage
Ludus Guide does not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. We do not run Google Analytics or any behavioural tracking.
We do not use localStorage or any other on-device storage either. Nothing about your visit is remembered between page loads.
5. Your rights under UK GDPR
If you are based in the UK or EEA, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Deletion: ask us to delete your data (where we are not legally required to retain it).
- Withdraw consent: unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link in any email.
- Lodge a complaint: if you believe we have mishandled your data, you can contact the ICO (UK Information Commissioner's Office) at ico.org.uk.

6. Data retention
Listing submissions are retained in our database until reviewed and actioned. Approved submissions remain as live directory listings; rejected submissions are kept for a reasonable period to prevent repeat spam submissions.
Newsletter subscriber data is held by Beehiiv for as long as you remain subscribed. Unsubscribing removes you from future sends; contact us if you also want your address deleted from their records.
Stripe payment records are retained by Stripe in accordance with their own data retention policies and applicable financial regulations.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
