How we curate listings and assign tags
Ludus Guide listings are carefully curated by the Ludus team, based on organiser-provided and publicly available information. We are not a certification body, and we don't audit spaces or events in person before listing them — this page explains exactly what our review process does and doesn't cover, so you know what to expect.
We start from what organisers publish
We review each space, event, or community’s own website, social accounts, and any public listing information, so what we show reflects how they describe themselves.
We cross-check where we can
Where possible we check publicly available reviews, community mentions, and past attendee feedback, alongside what the organiser tells us directly.
Tags are applied deliberately, not by default
An inclusivity tag (like trans-inclusive or sober-friendly) is only added when it’s genuinely supported by what an organiser states or what we can find publicly — not assumed from a venue’s general vibe.
Listings get reviewed, not just added once
We periodically revisit listings and remove or update anything that has closed, changed hands, or stopped running.
What "curated" means here
When we say a listing is curated, we mean it has been reviewed by a person against our editorial criteria (see our About page) — not that Ludus has formally audited, inspected, or guaranteed the space, event, or organiser. Inclusivity tags reflect our best research at the time they were added, based on what an organiser tells us and what is publicly available, not an independent certification.
If something about a listing turns out to be inaccurate or has changed, we want to know.
